Tree Planting

We reduce the loss of forest in biodiversity hotspots. Most protected areas suffer by illegal loggin and collection of non-timber forest products. We buy seeds and create nurseries in cooperation with local communites to reforest these vulnurable areas.

The Congo Basin is inscribed as World Haritage in Danger. It is crucial to the future of climate stablity.

Target: 1.000 trees a year

Biomonitoring and Research

To save a gorilla or chimp, we have to reduce pressure on that animal. To find out, what obstacles the animal is dealing with, we have to observe it on location.  Due to crisis no data have been collected over years now. We have to start from the scratch by doing a survey.

For a large mammal survey, we need up to 5 people collecting data over a period of almost a month. According to park regulations they have to be guided by there staff. This baseline data enables us to do biomonitoring on a certain group.  If we do so, we can save the animal by reducing pressure.

Target: Survey in Bayang-Mbo

Conservation Education

We like to address the future of Cameroon – its youth. Planet B. carried out education in Mamfe, Kekpani, Nfakwe, Akwa and Nkongsamba. The program is designed to fit into curriculum of MINEDUB and MINFOF. It improves coexistence between people and great apes. Students passing the program are familiar with interaction between men and nature to avoid conflicts. We train student´s social, mental and linguistic competencies and motor skills.

Target: Bayang-Mbo villages

Livelihood Improvement

Poverty is crucial to people living in remote areas. Many of them base on cocoa farming. A solar drier and fermentation boxes can improve their income by reducing crop loss and quality of their products.

Target: Next Solar Drier in Takamanda
